Week 01: Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum

Growing up, I've seen Estee Lauder's Advanced Night Repair Serum in my mother's boudoir too many times. You see I grew up seeing the things I'm starting to pay special interest to lately (read: age is creeping in rather aggressively reason why I like hoarding my mother's tukador for tried and tested secrets). Overtime I learned that there are three my mother can't absolutely live without just because they're SO good: Dove exfoliating soap bars, Chanel Le Krayon Kohl in Black, and of course Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair (ANR) Serum.

Estee Lauder recently gifted me a full sized bottle of the Advanced Night Repair Serum. I excitedly shared the news to my mom and I think she got more excited than me. :) She raved about it like a little girl how intensive it's correcting and hydrating powers are plus more (complete with the smoothening gestures on the cheeks even).

Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum (50ml, Php 4,800)

The one formula beautiful skin can't live without.

This comprehensive, high-performance anti-aging serum-inspired by groundbreaking DNA research-brings your skin a dramatic reduction in the visible signs of aging.

Use it every day to help continuously repair the appearance of past damage, prevent future damage and deliver high levels of hydration.

If you want younger, healthier-looking skin now and in the future, don't go a night without it.

Visible Results, Proven Success

Even the best can get better. This advanced formula-with 20 patents worldwide, and backed by 25 years of research-includes all the benefits you love about the original, plus more to help your skin repair itself like never before:

Exclusive Chronolux™ Technology

  • Repairs the appearance of past damage.

  • Addresses damaging effects before they become permanent.

  • You'll see a visible improvement in the signs of aging-specifically lines, uneven skintone and immediate hydration.

Enhanced Environmental Repair

  • Neutralizes up to 90%* of environmentally generated free radicals before they can affect skin's appearance.

  • That's key, because environmental assaults such as UV, smoke, pollution and even emotional stress are the #1 cause of premature signs of aging.

  • Our advanced technology repairs the appearance of damage caused by every major environmental assault.

Continuous Hydration

  • Creates the optimal environment for repair with nature's long-proven moisture magnet Hyaluronic Acid.

  • Clinical tests prove skin's levels of moisturization increase dramatically.

  • Soothes daily irritation and builds a rich anti-oxidant reserve to help replenish skin's natural protectants. Think of it as "insurance" for younger, healthier-looking skin, today and tomorrow.

How to use:

  • Apply every PM on clean skin. Follow with your moisturizer.

  • Use several drops.

  • Smooth in gently all over face and throat.

I've tried ANR before but I stopped because I went on a prescription only program from my dermatologist. I actually remember using it because of an awful sunburn that left my skin intensely parched and dehydrated. Call it a miracle but ANR really saved me back then. Now that my skin's in tip top shape, I decided to commit to it for a minimum of 4 weeks and share with you the results.

my current PM skin care routine
For AM I just use Obagi Healthy Skin Protection SPF 35 after the VMV Superskin 2 Toner

My capital expectation from Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum would be intense hydration followed of course by fine line prevention and hopefully minimization. In terms of hydration I already saw that because the serum's almost immediately absorbed by my skin. I misted some water on my skin after putting the prized serum on and the water beads just stuck on my face instead of gliding off (which really amazed me!). In terms of anti-aging prowess, here's the challenge I'm posing against Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum. Looking at the photos below from 2005 and 2012 (just last Saturday), I think I've somehow become successful in terms of "freezing time". I hope it can sustain such if not even make things better. :)

  1. You've got really enviable skin, phoebe. :)

Anyway, I just hit the quarter century mark. And I guess the thing about quarter life crisis is a bit true. I started re-thinking and re-evaluating my life, and it made me realize that 25 years passed by so fast and that I still have a lot of things that I want to do (which I should've done before). I still feel like I'm at a crossroads in life wherein I really have to figure out what I want to do with my life in terms of work, grad school, relationships, etc.

So I promised myself that I will focus on my personal growth this year. This means focusing on all aspects such as mental, spiritual, emotional, and of course, physical growth, for a better ME.

It is a fact that I won't get any younger (in terms of age), that's why I want to look young. I do believe that it's important to always feel and look young because it gives me a boost of confidence. I read that visible aging of the skin starts at about age 25 as the natural regenerative process begins to slow. I have to say that's true because last year, to my dismay, I observed that very visible sun spots (freckles) appeared on my cheeks (despite the use of sunblock).

So if given the chance, I would love to win the Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum, the overnight stay at Coco Beach, and hands and feet service at Nail Spa that will surely provide a pampering treat. :)

  2. I want to look young on my next birthday because I'm going to be married this year to a wonderful man who's four years younger than I am. He does say he looks older but I'd like to maintain my youth until the coming years evens out our looks in our 80's hahaha!

  3. This August I will be turning 30 and I'm oh so proud! I have been going gaga on how I would take care of my skin especially my face since i am also a fanatic of make up. Keeping it hydrated is the most important thing for me and of course my vitamin E. Last September, I suffered stress related break outs and undergone peeling session and was advise to start using Hydroquinone for my face. This resulted to dryness so now I am in the process of reviving the "lost moisture". Winning this item will really help me save millions on my budget:)

  8. who wouldn't want a great skin?!Ü

i've been a lurker of your blog for i think about 3 years now. and i always envy how healthy and glowing your skin is.

i will be 27 this year. i would love to look younger (and beautiful..Ü) on my next birthday to feel fabulous inside and out. i'm a call center agent for some time now. and like you, i'm working on a night shift plus i have a hormonal imbalance so having breakouts are normal for me. since i can't afford to visit a derma regularly i just use products that might somehow help me w/ my dilemma.:( since i'm not getting any younger (hello fine lines!), i just want to maintain a younger looking skin.

aside from having a great skin it's also important that we feel young inside. and for me, te best way to achieve it is to stay happy and be positive all the time.

i would love to win those fab prizes to reward and remind myself to take care and love myself more.Ü

  11. I'll be turning 35 on my birthday this coming November and I am beginning to notice some lines appearing on my face. Although I would like to age gracefully, I know that's just an excuse because what I really want to do is run away with Peter Pan and not age in Neverland. I am young at heart and I want to be young in appearance as well!

  12. I would like to look younger on my next birthday
    because I'm already turning 66.

Well, I've worked for the past 30+ years of my life as a teacher,
& I just retired last school year.

Given the chance to win, a Coco Beach getaway is going to be
a great treat for me & my husband so we can unwind & spend
some "quality time" together. And adding up to this, winning
a bottle of Estee Lauder Serum plus an express hands & feet service
at Nail Spa, is going to be a "100% great pampering treat" for me
after all those years of hard labor =)

God bless you Phoebe & more power!

  13. Hi Phoebe! :)

I'd like to look younger on my next birthday (am turning 28 in March) and "freeze time" with Estee Lauder's ANR serum because I feel that age is starting to take a toll on my skin (eek!), especially since I'm studying culinary and am constantly exposed to the elements of a hot kitchen: smoke, steam and heat.

I'm pretty basic with my skin regimen: cleanse and moisturize (with SPF). I only realized, I needed to do something to improve my skin drastically (!) when the sales lady of a certain cosmetic brand asked if I was out in the sun recently (I wasn't). She pointed out how my skin looked red, splotchy, parched and uneven. And to my dismay, she was right. :(

So it dawned on me: I needed to take absolutely better care of my skin. But how (aside from adding toner to my current regimen)?

I had no idea, until the points in Estee Lauder's ANR Serum jumped out at me:

--> Repairs the appearance of past damage.
--> Addresses damaging effects before they become permanent.
--> You’ll see a visible improvement in the signs of aging-specifically lines, uneven skintone and immediate hydration.

Those three points, and "If you want younger, healthier-looking skin now and in the future, don’t go a night without it" plus (your) Mother Goose's raves and your blog (which I've been following since its Swipe Some Gloss days) has sold me to it. Definitely.

I need Estee Lauder ANR Serum to "arrest" and improve the dire conditions of my skin, in time for my next birthday (which I hope I get to celebrate at Coco Beach). :)

    Thank you. :D

  14. I would like to look young on my next birthday because 2 years of stay in med school has already made me look like 5 years older!

Also, I have a dream of becoming a dermatologist someday. And as a preparation, I want to invest on having a good skin. When I say good skin, I don't mean having "white" or "fair complexion." I believe that a good skin is more than just about the color. I am a proud morena and I know that Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum can make my skin look glowingly young. (Plus of course, the overnight stay at Coco Beach and the Express hands and feet service at Nail Spa would surely take my stresses away. :)

My birthday also happens to be the 26th monthsary of my boyfriend and I. It's a double celebration! I should look my best! Estee Lauder, I need you! :)

  16. I want to look young on my next birthday because I'm giving birth to a baby girl this April and I want to feel beautiful when she arrives.I deserve the 50ml bottle of Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum, an overnight stay at Coco Beach, and an express hands and feet service at Nail Spa because balancing work and being a full time mom is no easy task to do and deserves some pampering.

  17. Imagine 2 scenarios upon meeting your friend:
    1) Person A to B: Hey! what have you been doing? You look so stressed.
    2) Person A to B: OMG! Is that you? Wow, you're blooming!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but no one wants to be stuck in Scenario 1 looking like a zombie!

I'm only 22 years old and am turning 23 on February 13. Imagine, a day before Valentines Day.

For me, there's no such thing as starting too early. If you love yourself, learn to love your skin. In fact, the rules are as simple as 1-2-3. Cleanse, Hydrate and Moisturize.

As such, I want to look younger on my upcoming birthday because I want to continuously inspire people that being beautiful does not take so much effort. People think that to become beautiful, they have to put on heavy makeup, wear glamorous clothes and the like. I beg to differ. They’re simply wrong because the more Natural you are, the more beautiful you are to others. Trust me on this, I’ve had tons of conversations with boys saying that they dislike women with too much makeup. In fact, they said that for a girl to be pretty, she must have good personality, learn to smile and just be herself. It is by this reason why I believe I deserve a 50ml bottle of Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum, an overnight stay at Coco Beach, and an express hands and feet service at Nail Spa. :)

As the poet Phineas Fletcher once said, “Beauty when most unclothed is clothed best”. So why not let your skin breathe, that’s by far the best way to become beautiful. I’m sure Phoebe will agree with me on this. More power! :)

  19. Im actually joining because of my Mom.

She'll be hitting the four-zero stage this year, February 10 to be exact. I'm proud to say she still looks like she's my older sister. We may not get the chance to talk as much as possible since I'm focusing now on my work, but I know she's always there for me and my brother. she practically raised us all by herself.
She's always there to comfort us, and she never fails to give her love everyday. that is why I'm so proud of her.

For her upcoming birthday, I want her to look and feel younger, and I believe that Estee Lauder is a good product that will make her achieve that.

Moms also deserved a little treat for themselves. I wanted to join this contest for her, just to let her know that "Moms also deserved to be loved and pampered." :)

Thanks Ms. Phoebe and Godbless :)

  22. Hi, Phoebe! I'm also joining in behalf of my mom. I would like for my mother to look younger this year. Last year started out very badly for her. She was hospitalized in January and practically the whole month of February. She has recovered somewhat. I would like for her to start 2012 as differently as possible. She was really thin and haggard last year. I would like her to be healthy and beautiful this year. Thanks very much!

  25. Aging is one of woman's number one enemy. Whether we admit it or not, women are more conscious than men when it comes to aging. Every tough times a woman is going through, every happiness and sorrows she endures, its all captured in her face, in her physique.

For me, I would like to look younger on my birthday and also on my upcoming birthdays because its the best thing we could give our self as a reward! Yes, its a reward we can give our self for all the best and worst circumstances we've been through. A youthful skin will show how much a woman is taking good care of herself despite all struggles she's been through.

A youthful skin will also show the quality of cosmetics and beauty products she is using on her skin. And that's the reason why its best to invest in quality products like Estee Lauder.

And that's the reason why I believe I deserve a 50ml bottle of Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum, an overnight stay at Coco Beach, and an express hands and feet service at Nail Spa.

  26. I envy your skin!!! Hahaha!

Anyway, Im joining this contest not for myself but for my mom ;) I've been noticing that my mama's more conscious for her skin nowadays. She's always on front of the mirror!! maybe counting her "lines"! She will turn 58 on May 6. She wants to STAY & LOOK young daw so she can still join me and my sister on our gimmicks. I want her to look young on her birthday because I want her to be beautiful on her special day! But I guess, me and mama can use the Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum together! hihi! My mama is still "hands on" on all of the household chores, she's too meticulous kasi eh. So an overnight stay at Coco Beach will make my mama and papa so happy, they celebrated their 26th wedding anniv last december 26, 2011, unfortunately, I dont have any gifts/ treats for them bcoz i dont have work pa that time. They deserve a "couple time" muna yung di kami kasamang magkapatid ;) And the Nail Spa! that will be my treat naman for my sister ;) for working so hard last year ;)

ohhh pls... I want to treat my family minus the expenses ;)

    again, thank you!

  27. I want my mom to look younger on her next birthday because by next year, she will be walking down the aisle again after 25 years with all her 5 kids as part of the entourage this time of course.

  28. I definitely want to look younger on my birthday! Well for starters, I was never blessed with beautiful skin. I've had acne since I can remember. Despite all the effort, medical consultation and potions I put on my face, it just won't clear up. I really envy women with great skin. I saw your picture, Ms. Phoebe and I was like, wow sana ako rin. Anyway on my birthday, experiencing that would be the best thing! Happy Chinese New Year!

  31. In my next birthday, I'll be turning 28 and I plan to celebrate it with a big costume party because I was not able to have a debut when I was 18 years old. I have been in the graveyard shift for the past year and while I still look a bit young, I can see some signs that my skin and face is aging. I already have a great costume in mind for my 28th birthday and I want everything in me to look perfect, refreshed and blooming.

I deserve to get the 50ml bottle of Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum, an overnight stay at Coco Beach, and an express hands and feet service at Nail Spa because I want to look perfect, refreshed and blooming on my 28th birthday and so people will say that I am truly happy and enjoying my life. I am not saying that I'm not enjoying life...in fact I do. But sometimes people won't be able to tell it at once and if my face is not good, they will think I don't like my life. But if I am refreshed and blooming, then I can emphasize more that I am loving and enjoying my life.

  32. I wanted to look young on my next birthday because ever since I became a mom, most of the time I neglect to beautify my skin. I don't wanna be a plain-looking housewife anymore, I wanted to (perhaps) bring back the Baby-like face I had ten years ago. I know that isn't not yet too late to feel and look young. I am a modern Cinderella that deserved to have the 50ml bottle of Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum, this will be my "Fairy-God Regimen" for a lifetime effect, and I will surely live happily ever after when (if ever) I win this! ;)

I haven't spend a birthday on a beach, so An overnight stay at Coco Beach, would be perfect plus, on my Big day, my face won't also be looking fab but also my nails with an express hands and feet service at Nail Spa. ;) A wonderful blessing indeed!

    Godblessyou! :)

  33. You have clear skin:)

I'm in my stressful stage because of my Board Exam and other problems, so I know that in this stage it's more than natural to look old and stress. It has been my worries and insecurity since my age doesn’t match to my skin. But I say, looking younger must come from within. It is profound pleasure which comes from peace and love and where healthy foods nourish the body. And I believe that Estee Lauder will help me to achieve clear and young skin to build my self confidence in handling any situation. Looking younger simply gives life to living life :)

  34. My Birthday was November 25, 1952. This year 2012 would be my 60th birthday., And yes I wanted to be look younger on my next birthday. It was the month of June 2011 that my husband died, so when my birthday come I celebrate it without him and I was so sad and still mourning. Fine-lines and wrinkles got really obvious because of the stressed and sleepless nights. Yet, I realize as I am facing the new year that I need to move on and live my life. Definitely I am deserving to be rewarded with a bottle of Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum, an overnight stay at Coco Beach, and an hands and feet service at Nail Spa. I need this to make me unwind, relax, and enjoy the beauty of life at the this point of time. I am Sixty, yet I am pretty, perky and Lucky!

  35. I was once a driven professional - I'd teach in different colleges their morning classes and then rush to the drug store in the mall for my 8-hour shift. Weekends are not lax as I oversee our family canteen and accept reviews and tutorials as well. These 80-hour weeks screeched to a halt when I (FINALLY!) got married in my early 30's and the doctor had advised me to take it slow if I ever wanted a visit from the stork.

So, I gradually weaned myself off from work until all that's left was my 4-hour weekly lectures at a review center. We had a baby but then what I didn't realize was that I had 168-hours every week looking after the baby and keeping the house (no househelp, I'm afraid).

It's been three years and on March, I'm turning 35 and I feel like I needed a well deserved break. I've been told gazillion times that despite being the eldest, my younger siblings look older than me. I want to keep it that way with Estee Lauder's ANR Serum. I want to attend my little one's future debut looking every inch an MILF. A night out with my husband at Coco Beach with fabulous nails are a plus! Who would've thought that the diva on the beach was a plain jane housewife in the suburbs?

I'd like to look younger on my next birthday because:

    >Who wants to look old? Not me! Everybody is dying to have a youthful glow so I'd really like to take time to pamper and take care of myself (and of course my skin) to achieve this glow. It's every woman's dream.. To preserve one's youth.
    >Also, I'd like to become a MOM but doesn't look like one. (I'm pretty sure you guys get what I mean.)
    >I'd like my husband to look at me as if everyday was our wedding day. (I really felt that I was the prettiest girl in the room that day.)
    >I'd like to feel good with myself and boost my self-esteem.

People say I look younger than my real age (and hopefully they say that because of my skin and not my height). I will be hitting the 30 mark in a few years time and I would like to still receive these compliments when I get there (and by that time I would want to be ultimately assured that the basis for all their praises would be my younger looking skin). So the answer to your question is, YES. I would be delightful to look younger on my next birthday (July 2) and soon-to-be wedding. My new career path is pretty stress-loaded and I would be needing all the help in making sure that I will be facing each day with healthy and younger looking skin. I save lives and I want to do that while saving my skin from Miss Bad Ugly Lines. Estee Lauder is a brand that is renowned for their intensive research and innovative products and I would be thrilled to add the goodness of this miracle bottle on my skin care regimen forever. (yes, I'm crossing my fingers as I type this entry, lol)

  38. I would like to look younger on my next birthday because I need to feel beautiful and confident about myself. I am a single mom who doesn't have budget for expensive stuff like this. My husband left me for another girl and that was on the day of my birthday and after we came from a very big trial (my son had a rare disease). It's now time to move on and I deserve to be happy on my next birthday!

I am joining on my mother’s behalf. She’ll be turning 51 this February 5. My mom has always been an Estee Lauder fan. I developed my penchant for make-up because of her. I can still vividly remember how she would wake up early in the morning, take a shower, splash on her favorite YSL perfume and put on make-up. That’s how she started her day. To me she was the most beautiful woman in the world. However, when we were growing up she shifted her priorities from make-up to tuition fees and other household expenses. Sadly, the change of priorities and gradual aging process caught up on her skin.. I believe ANR will play a vital role in making her age gracefully. Joining this giveaway will be my simple way of giving back. This would be a perfect post birthday gift for her and YES! I would love to see her younger looking all year round.

I would like to join in behalf of my mom. i'd like her to look younger so that she would feel more confident about herself and make her believe that she's pretty despite of all the wrinkles causing her to look old. I often tell her she's gorgeous but she won't believe me. I keep on telling her that growing old is a normal process in anyone's life. I want to win the 50ml bottle of Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum for her to aide her in her aging problem. She has been a very good mom to me and my ate so i think she deserves the prize. I'd also give her the express hands and feet service at Nail Spa for an additional pampering! as for the overnight stay at Coco Beach, I think i'll have it for me and my bestfriend for some catching-up and girly bonding! :)

  42. You look stunning! Promise. ^_^ wish I have skin like yours :(

Well, here's my story . :) I have a very sensitive skin and it gets dry and dull easily when the weather or the room temperature is too cold. I can't wear make-up (foundation, concealers and others) because I am afraid that they they might cause skin breakouts. I love my skin so I take good care of it but I feel like there's something missing. My skin is still dull, dry and have several brown spots. 3 months from now is my 22nd bday. I want to surprise my family, my bf, friends and of course, MYSELF. I want to look fresher and younger - yes, I am dying to have a beautiful skin just like yours.

  43. I'm a mom of 2 boys aged 1 and 4 and having little sleep has been a norm for me ever since I became a mom. My unhealthy sleep habits are now taking its toll on my dry, sensitive skin. I have always looked young for my age but lately, this is not the case anymore. My wake up call was when 3 people on 3 different occasions thought that I'm older than my ate. I treated each incident lightly but deep inside, I was mortified to say the least. On March 25th, I'll be turning 31 and I'm hoping to look my age or better yet, younger than my 31 years to have a much needed confidence boost which I think I truly deserve. :)

  44. Oh this is just so timely. I'll be celebrating my 43rd birthday this Saturday, February 11. I know I'm quite there already - mid-life crisis. But you know I don't feel I'm already in my 40's. I'm still very much a child at heart. I feel like I'm still in my 20's, haha! and I want to have that feeling spill-over to the physical aspect of my life. Well, I admit it's flattering when people see me and say that I don't look my age. In fact, many thought that I'm just in my late 20's, oh wow! So, with that, I want to look younger or if that is not possible, just to maintain my youthful glow on my birthday because who wouldn't be, right? I want to look younger for my husband, my 3 girls and most especially for myself. Since my kids are all girls, I want them to be proud of their mom's looks, too. I want to look my best by feeling and looking young on my birthday because I know I deserve it. nd my family deserves the best of me. And yes btw, the Coco Beach overnight will surely be a treat for me and hubby and that feet and hand pampering, too!

  45. First off, I have to say your skin is beautiful! And I know that's natural beauty at its finest :)

We live in a time where you can't go 3 minutes without hearing, seeing, or thinking of an advertisement about all the fabulous products on the market today. Especially when it comes to beauty products, all a girl needs to see is the beautiful model beside the bottle and think, "I want skin like hers!". Solution? Buy the product.

I am an international model and have been working for the past 9 years traveling the globe, particularly in Asia. Skincare is a huge market out there, and if I learned anything from the industry is don't believe anything you see in advertising! Yes, the models have been lucky enough to have been endowed with a pretty face, but you can thank heavy makeup and Photoshop for the flawless skin.

When I first started modeling I used to take my skin for granted. I always cleansed religiously, but my barely-noticeable pores, even tone, soft skin, and few freckles were on account of my age. I never noticed a huge difference with or without foundation, so I saw no need to invest in expensive Skincare regimes.

That said, NOW I hold an entirely different opinion. I come home after a day at work, and after taking off my makeup I look in the mirror and say "THAT'S what my skin really looks like?!". Dark eye circles, more freckles than I can count, wrinkles that just sort of appeared... I am turning 27 tomorrow, and i feel like the heavy makeup day in and day out has seriously aged my skin. My skin is dry, dull, lifeless...almost stripped of its once youthful vitality.

I've seen the new Estée Lauder model, and she is absolutely gorgeous. But because I'm in the industry, I can't help but wonder, "what does her skin really look like underneath?"

Because of this, I've secretly always wanted to prove that what you see in pictures isn't always completely fake...the hope, perhaps, that there were products out there that could truly beautify your skin to its fullest potential, rejuvenate your once supple skin, something to make me feel camera-ready without caking on the foundation. I've tried more products than I care to name, all with disappointing effects.

All I want is to not have such a drastic difference between my skin with makeup and my natural ski without makeup. It's hard to deal with the shock on people's faces when they find out I'm a model, because they can't tell when I'm without makeup. Constantly subject to judgement, I want to feel beautiful both on and off camera. Every woman deserves to feel beautiful, to be confident, to feel worth pampering. If you honestly think that EL's Advanced Night Repair Serum and a much-needed vacation could do that, I would be forever grateful.

    Thanks for reading :)

  46. • I have five good reasons why I want to look younger on my next birthday, and why I deserve to win a 50ml Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum, an overnight stay at Coco Beach, and an express hands and feet service at Nail Spa. :)

    1. Last night, while at the LRT, someone was calling somebody “Nay, Nay! Dito na kayo pumasok!” I turned around and the guard, who looked waaaay older than me, was actually calling me to sit in the special compartment for seniors/preggies/special passengers carriage of the train. Duh!

    2. A month ago, my baby looked at my face and said, “Mommy, old ka na ba?” I asked him why, and he said, “Kasi parang old ka na. But I don’t want you to be old kasi baka ma-dead ka.” He just turned 4 last week. Ugh!

    3. My students asked me in class how old I was. When I said 33, their faces showed utter disbelief. I would have ignored their reaction, but my ever sensitive ear heard a student say, “Ay, 33 pa lang pala si ma’am.” So what does that mean, huh!!!

    4. My hubby and baby went to our office Christmas party last Dec. A lot of my co-workers saw my hubby for the first time. A day after, a co-worker who’s been in the office for 30 yrs told me, “Uy, ang gwapo ng asawa mo. Tsaka ang bata pa!” I said, “Mas matanda lang po ako sa kanya ng isang buwan.” HAAAYYY!!

    5. While inside a jeep, I paid for my fare and a male passenger (take note, “old male passenger”) reached out to give the fare to the driver. I said thank you, then he said, “Pare, bayad ng ale sa dulo o.” Jak en poy, ALE ALE HOY!!!

    6. I’m a full-time employee in an office, I have two part-time jobs in the evening and on Saturdays, I have several clients on the side, I sell accessories and sweets that I personally make when I’m not doing the first three jobs I’ve mentioned, I spend at least 5 hours of commuting everyday to and from work, I’m a hands-on mom, and I’m a hands-on wife (lol), and these are taking a toll on my face and my body. I’m not complaining, I love each of these, but it’s just that, I need some “me” time and a reward, and a 50ml Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum, an overnight stay at Coco Beach, and an express hands and feet service at Nail Spa are a really perfect reward for me.

I am only 33! I’m even far from having a midlife crisis because I’m not yet even that age. But people actually think that I’m so Nanay and so “losyang”. Yup, I guess, I really need, dream no WANT to looke younger this March, my next birthday.

Thank you for reading and for the chance to win!!!

  47. Hi, I would like to join the contest for my mom. I have been reading a lot of good reviews about Estee Lauder’s ANR and thought that it would be great for my mom to try it (too bad it’s too expensive and out of my budget). I would very much love to win it , the overnight stay at Coco Beach, and the hands and feet service at Nail Spa for her (and my dad).
My mom was a teacher before she married my dad. She resigned though and concentrated on our family as it was my dad’s wish back then. My mom did so willingly and prioritized our family all the time since then. My mom is now 45 years old and I can honestly say she is the best mom (older sister to her siblings, daughter-in-law to my grandparents) in the world. When I was younger, we found out that she has breast cancer and she had to undergo a few operations, chemotherapy, the works. Thank God she survived but we always had to be on the look-out just to make sure it doesn’t come back. Until this day, there are people (her doctor would give out her contact number), wanting to meet her and talk to her, who are going through what she went through just to get inspiration and hope from her (I am always proud of this fact). Despite this ordeal she continues to take care of all our family needs, doing the household chores, being an all-around mom (we don’t have household help) as if she is still perfectly all right (she gets tired rather quickly compared to before). She would also always help out anyone who needs our help, always thinking of ways to make them happy. She is just one of the nicest people I know (not being biased, her being my mom) despite her coming off as “maldita” at first glance.
I would really describe my mom as a selfless person in the way that she always, ALWAYS, thinks of our family needs first. There would be times when she would tell me that she saw something that she wanted but decided not to buy it since it’s something that she doesn’t really need (sometimes even if she really needs it). I would always feel bad that my mom has to forego her wants (and sometimes her needs) and would promise myself that when I start working, I will treat her to things she would like because I really believe she deserves it.
Anyway, lately she became more conscious of her skin, tending to look in front of the mirror and check her fine lines, freckles and dark spots. She thinks she looks old now and started using anti-ageing products and would sometimes ask me if her freckles and spots became less visible. I would usually answer with a “yes?” (note the question mark, as I can’t really tell if they are really less visible). I would then tell her that maybe she needs to use the products longer for the effects to be really seen (despite her using the said products for more than 8 months now). With Estee Lauder’s ANR, I was hoping that I can at least give back something that would not only help her with her fine lines, freckles and spots, but would also make her feel young and beautiful again.
I would also love for my parents to get to stay overnight stay at Coco Beach and experience the hands and feet service at Nail Spa (lol, I think it’s okay for guys [my dad] to enjoy these types of treats too). My dad has always supported my mom all the time and I think he too deserves the said treat. They are going to celebrate their 24th anniversary this coming August and wouldn’t it be such a nice treat for them to stay and celebrate their anniversary “in-style” in Coco Beach.
I was hoping that with Estee Lauder’s ANR, the overnight stay in Coco Beach and the nail and feet service at Nail Spa, she would also have a chance to look and feel younger. These, I believe, would make them (my mom and dad) feel refreshed and feeling good about themselves (despite them being “older” than they used to be). I would really love to win these and give these to her (and my dad) since I believe that she really deserves to be pampered. She deserves this and more. :)

  48. i am almost 39 years old. i am proud of what i have accomplished as a dentist, as a government servant, as a mother, a daughter, a sister, a member of the community. However, i do not want my age, nor my experiences to show on my face. I dont want people to say yeah we believe that you have weathered the storms, cause you sure look battered and bruised and wrinkled. Besides, my son who is almost 6 years old loves to touch my face after a commercial (ponds) and say mommy you should use that so wont look old. Aargh. Honesty may be the best policy but it sure is a bitter pill to swallow

  49. I am turning 20 next month and this birthday will mean that I'll be leaving my "TEENage" years already. I would love to look younger because adulthood means "growing up", not "growing old". I want enter adulthood with overflowing confidence to face a new chapter of my life. :)

  50. I'm not entering for myself. I'm enetering for my mom :)

Mom is just a simple 50 years-old woman. She never really cared about her looks, maybe due to the fact that she's just a housewife, or she doesn't really like make-up, or likes all things to be natural. Like me, she just puts on a bit of powder and she's good to go anywhere - malls or schools or some other errand (sometimes she doesn't even put on anything on her face). Even though her hair is turning white already, she doesn't want to have it colored because she likes to keep it natural, and even says that "What would I get if I have it colored?". Now, I want to win this bottle for her simply because she deserves it. I know she will not regain her youthful look decades ago, and certainly she already have wrinkles in her face, but I want to give back to her, in any little way I can. Time flies too fast - she'll be 60 by the time I'll have kids (hopefully haha; I'm 18 now), and I want her to feel that even though she's always sacrifcing her time, energy, money and luxury for everyone in her family, and even though she really has no boss or co-workers to impress with her looks, she IS beautiful in her own way (and best mom ever!). I want her to feel a little bit younger again (even though she never really cared about her looks at all), so that we (her children), can catch up on her and yeah :D

As for the overnight, well I'm sure mom and dad would love it! Even though they're 50 and 52 already, they hadn't gone much around Philippines actually. I think mom only went to Cavite (her hometown), Bicol (childhood place), a three-day stay in Iloilo (due to my competition), about two weeks in Negros Occidental (due to dad's family), and here in Metro Manila, where our home is. As for dad, his hometown is in Negros Occidental but already spent almost half of his life alternating between Quezon province (his workplace) and our house (and also going to Cavite due to mom's family). It has actually been mom's dream to go to Baguio, and dad to beaches in Visayas. They never really fulfilled those dreams because they rather spend the money to our tuition fees, and the energy in cooking delicious food for their children. We're just an average middle class family, and since they're nearing their senior years, I want to win this overnight for them so that they can (partially) fulfill their dreams and relax, away from the hustle-bustle of life :) Besides, they really need some time away together. In a year, mom only gets to see dad approximately twice-thrice a week (102-156 days a year) due to dad's work, and the last time they had actually gone out was already decades already - they would prefer to put their children's needs first before everything else. So there :)

Remember what I said about mom preferring natural over products? Well that extends to her hands and feet. The only pampering she does is to apply lotion, which she does like almost just once a week. When I tell her to go mani-pedi with me, she just says it's a waste of money, and she really doesn't like the usual thing salons do: the side cutting of the nails. She says it hurts her, much more since she's constantly doing housework (we don't have maids or any other person in our house except for her family). I've read reviews about Nail Spa, and I'm sure they wouldn't hurt mom in any way. I want her to give her hands and feet some good break from all the works and walks she has been doing :D

  51. I actually never celebrated my birthday. My birthday is just like any ordinary day in my calendar since celebrating birthdays is not a part of my religious belief and also, personally, who likes getting old? Not me. haha! >___<

  52. *I reposted this because it seems like my previous post didn't get all the words I have said. =(

I actually never celebrated my birthday. My birthday is just like any ordinary day in my calendar since celebrating birthdays is not a part of my religious belief and also, personally, who likes getting old? Not me. haha! >___< this is the best part of the giveaway, I think. I want my mommy and daddy to relax and have their special time together. My sibling and I have been stealing much time from them already! hahaha!
Lastly, The only thing I'm planning to get for myself, if ever I win this giveaway, is an Express Hands and feet Service and the Nail Spa. I think this is a perfect way to pamper myself after all the stressful work I'm having almost everyday! I'm supposed to work 8hrs everyday but it seems like I'm teaching Koreans 24/7! hahaha~I need something to pamper me up.

Thanks for this giveaway Phoebe! <3
