Massive Love: shu uemura Skin Purifier A/O

I was steadily content with my shu uemura fresh (pink) cleansing oil for about 3 years. It was love at first use because it seems to melt every bit of makeup without stripping dry nor leaving grime on my combination skin. Highly effective, no adverse reactions, and objectively speaking, it's absolutely worth every peso.

I shied away from the fresh variant last December 2010 just because of the brand's holiday collaboration with Aya Takano.

I was guzzling up the last few drops off the 150ml bottle above when shu uemura asked me to try their premium range of cleansing oils:

white recovery (brightening) - premium a/i (dry/sensitive) - premium a/o (anti-aging)

While I like all of them for different reasons, I found and myself gaga over one particular variant.

refill (Php 5200) - travel - gift with purchase (GWP)

shu uemura Skin Purifier a/o (cleansing beauty oil premium a/o advanced formula)
for aging concerns

cleansing beauty oil premium a/o is the #1 selling shu uemura cleansing oil in the world. the new advanced formula is empowered with green tea and specially selected gingko leaf extract contains flavonoids, recognized in japan for strong anti-oxidant and micro circulation properties that help to promote transparency and radiance to fatigued skin. the removal of oxidized sebum, which accelerates the aging process, is the first step in anti-aging skincare. the innovative natural origin hpo system has a superb cleansing ability which removes sebum and dramatically increases the removability of waterproof mascara and long-lasting makeup. the advanced formula leaves the skin soft, and refined for a youthful appearance.

White recovery's great when my skin feels very dull and ashy while premium a/i worked wonders when I was breaking out last December. Premium a/o (to me at least) is a league of its own. It's been my go to cleanser since November 2011 and I'm head over heels over it. It does everything fresh does plus more. I like to think of it as a combination of fresh and white recovery -- a cross between a purifier, a brightener, and an anti-aging cleanser.

It will take me forever to finish the 450ml refill above yet unless shu uemura comes up with a better variant, I think I will re-buy this new found, HG gem.

I haven't tried any Shu Uemura products, but when I saw the anti-aging skin purifier (green) bottle.. I thought of trying it out.. though I'm not the oil type person... I find it greasy kasi... But if given with that cute bottles, oh my I wish I could try some, Kahit yung smallest bottle lang... I'm fond of collecting cute containers and boxes...

  6. This is so far from being greasy after rinsing. Try it to be fascinated by the "magic of milk". ;)

  8. Are the premium variants price's too far from the fresh variant? I'm one to shy away from cleansing oil but a few more reviews and I just might give it a go.. :p My skin is almost always well behaved and not too picky when it comes to cleansers but age is slowly creeping up that I am in dire need of a go-to and must keep products that does multiple jobs in one go--as you said, purifier, brightener and anti-aging (the less one put on our faces, the better di ba?).. This is a helpful post for me. Thanks..

  9. Hmmmm not so much, IMO. The fresh is at Php 4000 for the 450ml refill while the premium a/o above is Php 5200. I think premium a/i is about Php 5200 also and white recovery's just wee bit more expensive than the 2 variants from the premium line. Sure, that's a LOT of money right there but then again it's your facial skin at stake and it's something definitely hard to take care of once the damage has been done.

I'm glad to hear that this post has been helpful for you. :) Do let me know if you tried these cleansing oils, kk? :)
