Unboxing: IPSY Glam Bag July 2016 - Hot Summer Nights

Your Summer Just Got Hotter Bonfires. BBQs. Pool parties. Dive into a month of smoldering, sexy looks that keep you cool on hot summer days—and even hotter nights.
Being in Texas makes me want to pass on an even hotter summer night.  With temps rising to 105F at 6pm, my skin and hair's fried and no make-up stays on without prepping and baking. The July IPSY Glam Bag promises to make the heat rather bearable with their beauty candies handpicked to complement the season.

I got 3 deluxe samples and 2 full sized products this month. First up, the full sized BellaPierre Cosmetics Banana Setting Powder (4g, $35).

This is bananas. Literally. The yellow tinge color-corrects to offset redness and acts as a subtle highlight. It’s a fave of ipsy’s contour queens. Works for all skin tones from fair to dark. Helps hide undereye circles. Illuminates and looks transparent once applied.

Ok na sana but this is made in China. I don't feel very good about cosmetics produced in PRC considering the fake (and often harmful) products exported by them. This is very promising but I'll think about trying this out.

The next full sized product is the Sedona Lace Synthetic Blender - EB 13 ($13.95).

Not your mama’s blending brush. This powerhouse is the hands-down fav of the all-knowing beauty bloggers. Triple-threat of brushes: blends, contours and highlights powders or creams, oh-so-soft and dense synthetic bristles, 100% vegan and hypoallergenic.

I've seen this Sedona Lace brush in a couple of YouTube videos and vloggers like it for a good reason -- it's multipurpose, vegan, and reasonably priced. Plus points for the black and purple brush head.

Now on to the bite sized samples, I love that finally got a theBalm eye shadow. I've only tried their lip glosses, bronzers, and highlighters in the past (I know, where've I been hiding!?) and I'm into all matte eyes right now so this one's perfect for contouring the outer V.

theBalm Cosmetics Meet Matt(e) Trimony Eyeshadow in Matt Moskowitz. Triple milled just sounds attractive, doesn’t it? It means this shadow is super fine, making it smooth and easy to blend. Ultra-matte color. Perfect on your lids, in the crease or as a transition shade. Velvety texture that’s as soft as it is stunning.

Lastly, we have deluxe samples from GLAMGLOW and Not Soap, Radio. I've tried various GLAMGLOW formulas in the past and this is one of my favourites. It dries off silver vs. dark gray (original GLAMGLOW) and it makes the skin ultra soft yet firm and lifted. The Not Soap, Radio When life gives you one too many lemons (and you've misplaced your happy place) joy inducing hand/body lotion (whew!) smells really good -- like tutti frutti with bursts fresh lemon. It's surprisingly very lightweight and non-greasy yet locks in softness and moisture the entire day.
